What is a remarque? A remarque is original artwork an artist adds to a print after an edition is completed. Not all prints are remarqued, just a small, signed and numbered quantity, usually about one hundred. A remarque endows the print with an original touch by the artist. It can be anything from a pencil sketch on the print’s border to a custom salutation written on the print for a special occasion. Since my specialty is watercolors, I have chosen to paint a small original watercolor on the border of the print. This specially created remarque will duplicate a small section of the original picture. I think you’ll really like the look. It makes each piece an original in it’s own right! And since each one is unique, remarque’s are sought after by print collectors. These very special prints are the most collectable of a print edition!
